-
Do Not Use Soap on the Blackstone Griddle. The griddle top is like cast iron cookware.
-
Turn the propane all the way on. Start with the knob on the left, push in turn a quarter turn. You should hear gas flowing, then, push the ignitor button. Then, turn on the rest of the knobs to ignite the other 3 burners. Adjust heat.
-
Wear heat protective gloves so you don’t burn yourself.
-
Season the griddle before and after cooking:
-
Heat and wipe the griddle with oil. This maintains a perfect coating that makes tasty food that won’t stick to the metal.
-
Scrape off all of the food residues after you’re done cooking with the spatula or scraper.
-
You might have some debris stuck on. Just squirt water on the stuck food. It should boil off easily.
-
If that doesn’t get the stuck on food off, sprinkle a teaspoon of salt on the debris. Use paper towels to brush off the debris.
-
Remember to turn off the propane tank and burners.
-
Wipe griddle top clean with a heavy towel or paper towel using the scraper to push it around if needed, to keep your fingers from burning
-
Apply a coat of cooking oil to the griddle top and wipe it off, so it will be protected and ready for your next cooking experience.
-
Empty & clean your grease cup so it doesn’t attract critters ☺- it’s dishwasher safe. Please don’t pour grease down the sink.
-
Cover griddle with fitted cover after it has cooled completely.
